Some sad news and some happy news.

pOOt acquired a secondary infection in his wound, and passed away. *sigh* Such a waste of a gorgeous mouse; I'm going to have to keep a closer watch on all my boys after this. Such small wounds can have such devastating consequences.

In happier news, Bew finally figured out that he's a boy and evidently surprised the heck out of himself with the discovery. We're hoping for babies from he and Tee by Easter.

On Saturday, I stumbled across the most amazing little mousie at GrrrAnimals (Karma) AND she might be pregnant. Whoo hoo! Not only is she totally unrelated to the mousery, she was in with some pretty amazing males. Time will tell all....

Tonight I'll be setting her up with a webcam so I can oogle her from wherever, and hopefully she'll be comfortable in it by the time her (hoped for) litter is due.

George seems to be as close to being his usual perky self as the damage caused by his respiratory problems will allow. He's going back into a modified version of his old cage tonight, with a covered house to keep him draft-free. I think he'll be glad to have his wheel back, even if he does have to go back to it without Alsatia.

Welcome to the Mutt Mousery!

Well, with the advent of the website, and now the blog, I'm feeling all official.

Highlights in the mousery:

pOOt is healing up nicely from his tussle with his brother Hummock. I think any infection has been stopped, so now I just wait to see if he ends up with a hairless patch on his butt or not.

Angelique is now in with the agoutis and Sunflower's crew; Ganache and her girls were being bullies. She seems to be fitting in much better there.

Nuage is in with Lohi and is being spoiled rotten. The break from being an auntie will do her good.

Still really bummed over losing all of Angelique's litter to satin syndrome. Oh well, at least now I know.
